Canson Montval Watercolour Pads

The Canson Montval Watercolour Pads are a traditional surface paper. They are ideal for watercolor, gouache, pencil, and pastel artists alike. The cold pressed sheets have a slightly rough surface thus allowing small amounts of filament to rest upon the page. The usability of this paper makes it a favorite among watercolor artists. Not only is it good for large areas of wash but also fine detail. The pads come in a 12 sheet pad on both A4 and A3 sizes. The sheets are 300gsm, 270gsm or 185gsm. There is no need to “stretch” these sheets prior to use thanks to Cansons pressing process. The 300gsm are over 3x as thick as standard copy paper. This allows the paint to not easily absorb through the sheet destroying your artwork in the process. The pads are a fine quality, acid-free, natural white, mildew resistant student watercolor paper. Renowned for its texture and resistance to repeated washing for this reason this Cold Press paper is suitable for all wet media techniques. The 300gsm grade has a thick feel for a paper that can be purchased in a pad format, like that of expensive cotton papers.
