Resin Polish Kustom Grit Set
Resin Polish Kustom Grit Set is a premium polishing compound is unlike any other available in Australia. Handcrafted here in Australia, Kustom Grit Step 1 Superfine Abrasive paste is equivalent to 50,000 Grit, while their Microfine Grit Step 2 is equivalent to 100’000 grit. The ultra-fine abrasive polishing particles are blended into a proprietary base of hard waxes, meaning they can be used as a stand-alone finish for small objects.
It is fantastic for polishing out other finishes, removing any remaining swirl marks or scratches and enhancing the depth of the finish while adding additional protection. Use it over oils, shellacs, lacquers, polyurethanes – even brass and other metals; pretty much a universal cutting and polishing compound!
The ultra-fine nature of Kustom Grit also makes it the perfect tool for polishing resins, acrylic and other plastics. Resin casts take on a whole new depth with glass-like shine and clarity, from river table tops to bread boards and jewellery – there is no better way to give your cast the polish it deserves.
Kustom Grit is safe to use and contains no harmful petro-chemicals, no harsh dissolving bases or silicone and is environmentally friendly. It has no additional scents or colouring agents, making it non-allergenic and as food safe as possible.
This set contains 1 x 170ml Tin of Kustom Grit Step 1 and 1 x 170ml Tin of Kustom Grit Step 2.
How to Use:
Grit Superfine Abrasive Paste – Step 1 (170mls)
Kustom Grit Step 1: After sanding to desired grit, apply Kustom Grit Step 1 with paper towel or cloth to the work piece. Use a cloth or buffing pad to work the product into the piece. After buffing, use a clean piece of paper towel or cloth to wipe any excess Grit paste from the work piece, before moving onto Grit Step 2 as the next step is a finer grade grit. For best results, sand to the highest grit before using Kustom Grit. 2000 Grit will give a glass like finish. Great results are achieved anywhere from 400 Grit. Using a buffing pad will give the best finish. Kustom Grit can be applied by hand, and can also be used for lathe work. We recommend using Low RPM between 400 to 800. Kustom Grit Superfine abrasive is rated at 50,000 Grit.
Grit Microfine Abrasive Paste – Step 2 (170mls)
Kustom Grit Step 2: After wiping the piece clean from Kustom Grit Step 1, apply Kustom Grit Step 2 with paper towel or cloth to the work piece. Use a cloth or buffing pad to work the product into the piece. After buffing, use a clean piece of paper towel or cloth to wipe any excess from the resin to give the resin the best finish. The materials used will protect any wood used in the work piece and the resin can be free from oils. For best results, use a buffing pad to work Kustom Grit into the work piece. Kustom Grit can be applied by hand and can also be used for lathe work. We recommend using Low RPM between 400 to 800. Kustom Grit Microfine abrasive is rated at 100,000 Grit
