Holbein Artist Gouache
Holbein Artist Gouache come in 15ml tubes and are more finely ground than other competing products. No whitening agents are added to Holbein Designer Gouache to increase opacity.
Holbein Designer Gouache will always give consistent, reliable results without “milking out”, darkening or muddiness. This gouache is made from the finest pigments selected for high density, saturation and light-fastness. They are more finely ground than other competing products. Holbein adds no opaquing agents to their gouache colours. Made in Japan. Available in 89 brilliant opaque colours.
Holbein gouache pigments have been chosen for exceptional saturation and the ability to mix freely without loss of brilliance, opacity or hue value in combination with other colors.
In developing the Artist’s own color shades, the color selection will always give consistent reliable results without darkening or muddiness.
The colors will not bleed or crack and offer absolute opacity when laid one over the other.
The mat surface will be fragile, however, and scratching or rubbing should be avoided.
A fixative or mat varnish will enhance surface strength but not without loss of opacity which may change surface color by increasing transparency.
This may alter reproduction qualities of art work to be photographed. If mediums are applied, care should be taken to insure a very thin coating only.
Capable of being mixed comparably with Holbein transparent watercolors, acrylic colors, or acrylic ink diluted for airbrush use, Holbein Gouache is a truly professional color product which will meet the requirements of the most demanding artist while, at the same time, offering those characteristics which make it an outstanding medium for the teaching of color theory.
